My name is Abby Davies, and I am a dedicated service professional who’s passionate about helping provide hope and healing to individuals, children and families.

Abby Davies MSW, LCSW is a licensed clinical social worker, EMDRIA approved EMDR therapist, TF-CBT, CBT, Play-therapy, and DBT trained therapist in the DFW area. Abby graduated from Utah Valley University in 2021 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. Upon graduation, Abby worked at Child Protective Services as a Case Worker in Utah County.

Abby completed her MSW from Baylor University in 2022. She worked with United Way of Denton County and was apart of the county’s Mental Health Leadership Team. Following graduation, Abby began providing clinical services to all ages at a private practice in DFW, then, with children and families at the Children Advocacy Center for North Texas, completing her supervision requirements for licensure.

Abby learned her favorite work was in providing counseling to child victims of abuse and the non-offending family members, and working to help victims manage and heal even the most severe symptoms of PTSD. She focused on trauma, crisis and transition with individuals of all ages with an extra focus on the family.

Since becoming a mom, Abby found an additional love for providing community and clinical perinatal mental health care and services for birth workers in DFW. This is when Golden Hour Connections came to life.

Abby uses a mix of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapies and Motivational Interviewing to address change and its roadblocks. Her training and approach to treating trauma is primarily EMDR Therapy, and Adaptive Informational Processing model. EMDR is an integrating treatment, meaning that it works with memories, beliefs, emotions, and body sensations to desensitize and reprocess unprocessed material that remains locked in the self, activating with current day triggers. She believes healing is possible, even after severe trauma, because of the body’s amazing resilience and capacity for growth and serenity, as created and given through the grace of God.
